Vaccinations

We start the vaccination series between 6-8 weeks and continue through about 14 weeks of age, then yearly. We use a new canine and feline vaccine line with 50% less volume per dose. The Ultra line offers comprehensive disease protection, patient comfort and safety. The Great Southern Animal Hospital offers a wide range of vaccinations. We can design a specific plan that fits your pet’s lifestyle.

Another part of preventative care is parasite screening. We advise a fecal exam once a year to help identify and treat any intestinal parasites. Other parasites that can harm your pet are fleas, ticks and heartworms. We offer a variety of preventative products to keep your pet safe and healthy.

Our Columbus veterinarian performs in-house neutering and spaying of male and female cats to help you enjoy your cat. We have provided essential surgeries for many years in Columbus, Ohio. Our veterinarian and all staff members wear safety masks and work with completely cleaned and sanitized hands. Your pets will receive a pre anesthetic to calm and sedate them, and then they receive a general anesthetic to help ensure their complete comfort during the process.

Your cats are allowed to wake up slowly from the process and receive pain medications as needed. We will keep your pets overnight to ensure the surgery incisions heal properly and that your pet recovers adequately. We will send your pet home with instructions for you on caring for your pet during the days after surgery. Call us now to schedule your appointment or to learn more.
